Sneak Peek!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was spent in the cities visiting family and celebrating my grandpa's birthday. Its nice to be back in Duluth (even though its a tad on the chilly side today). I can't believe the 4th of July (also my dads birthday) is already this weekend! I think Mr. and I are going to be heading up to Grand Marais for a 10k trail race and spend the weekend at a cabin with some friends. Can't wait!

I know I've been slacking on the updates lately, but I will be adding some cool things to the shop this week so stay tuned. For now, check out these fun and pretty things you will see in the shop tomorrow. Have a great day!
{I think this egg cup is COMPLETELY darling. The tie and little shoes? Be still my heart!}
{For the simple shabby chic house, this old framed floral print would be pretty on your wall}
{Nothing like vintage Kodak film tins to keep your small treasures safe}

Shop Update!

Hey all. I gotta make this quick because off to see the movie The Hangover. Can't wait to get into so serious A/C. I'm dying in my office upstairs! Anyway, here's a glimpse of some things I just added to the shop: I love wire baskets! I like to stash magazines and books into them for any easy clean display. And how about these candlestick holders? I'm a sucker for weathered paint and wood. Well I'm off! Have a great day!

great gatsby party...

My good friend Leslie and her roomies threw a party at their huge and very opulent house. It was built in the 1880s by Charles Thompson, as a gift to his bride. Since they lived in Saint Paul, the birthplace of F. Scott Fitzgerald (and it's rumored that he actually attended soirees at their house back in the day), they decided to throw a Great Gatsby-themed party. Unfortunately, their landlord has decided to reclaim his property and sell it; therefore, "The Great Good-bye" was their last shindig.

How cool does this party look!? I wish I could have attended, but alas! it was Grandma's Marathon weekend. I can't get over the costumes (don't you wish people still dressed like that?). Not only did they throw a kicking costume party but they had a professional photographer (Cameron Wittig) take all the photos AND a string quartet band (Spaghetti Western String Co.) provide the tunes. Sweet!

Hello Victory on HBO's Mad Men!

I had quite a special surprise yesterday. I sold these window squeegees and soon realized I was to send them to Los Angeles to the set of HBO's hit series Mad Men! I have seen the show a few times (we got rid of our cable so we wouldn't become glued) and I just love it! The show takes place in the 1960s so the entire set is decked out mid-century style. I constantly swoon over their desk accessories and clothes. I had to e-mail the prop guy a few times since he wanted them to ship overnight and hopefully he'll be back for more! Its exciting to know that some of my items will be on TV! Keep your eye out for the red and green squeegees!!
ps. Not too long ago Mr. Lindello was like "who's going to buy old window washers?"
well husband, what do you think now? :)

Shop Update!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was very chaotic in a fun kind of way. I had a lot of fun with my 11 year old niece who stayed with us and the marathon was so much to watch. It ended up being close to 90 degrees without a cloud in the sky so Mr.Lindello had a hard, but good race. I'm so proud of all my friends and family who ran, especially on such a blistering hot day!

I'm in kind of a goofy mood so I decided to add something to the shop that I found the other weekend that made me giggle. I think someone can get creative with the faux slices of bread don't you?

I added some other treasures to the shop so be sure to check them out! Any fun plans for this week? Its a dreary day in Duluth right now, but I'm hoping to get out for a hike with Argos. Have a great day!

one more time....

Well, I had to. I just had to post about these wellies one more time. I am in love with them, but have to let them go since they are a wee bit on the small side. I found the picture below today over at Creature Comforts (Philip Newton) and considered it a sign :) I just updated the shop with a few more things.... Isn't the picnic basket so handsome? I thought it looked nice with the wellies. I think I could design a whole outfit and day using these boots :). You can find this in the shop today too! I love having picnics. I have yet to have one this summer, but its on my to do list.

You might not hear from me until Monday now. This weekend will be busy as its Grandma's Marathon weekend here in Duluth. Grandma's is one of the largest half and full marathons in the USA! Its a beautiful course that I have enjoyed many times (I'm just watching this year). Mr. Lindello is running the full marathon and we have lots of friends and family staying with us this weekend to run so I will be quite busy! If your a runner and love going to new places to race (we love too!) you should check out this race. Its nice and flat and goes along Lake Superior.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and be sure to stop by the shop to check out the new items!

Sunday Sneak Peeks

I hope you are all having a lazy summer Sunday. I had a great weekend celebrating with Mr.Lindello over a romantic dinner and catching up with friends and family. I am out of town until Monday night, but check the shop this week for lots of new things! Here is a peek at what you will find: (simple yet elegant, this pedestal ceramic planter would make any house plant a happy one!)
( I'm in love with anything Danish Modern, and these sleek teak candlesticks are no exception!)
(I usually don't sell vintage clothes/accessories, but these plaid wellies we're far too good to pass up! They're in wonderful condition and would look oh so good with skinny jeans on a rainy day. They have the most adorable patch on the side, making them look like old girl scout boots)

{wildaboutvintage (me too!}
{opaline1214 love the gem set in gold}
{EricaWeinerJewelry three tin japanese bug pins}
I've been drawn to vintage insect brooches lately. Wouldn't they be pretty grouped together on a blazer? Friday is here again and I don't mind at all! I went to our city's annual Park Point Rummage Sale for 5 hours this morning! The sun was shining and I'm afraid I feel a little toasty and red :) I found some great new items that will be in the shop next week that I can hardly wait to show you! I will be at a show in Minneapolis for the boutique picking out late fall and holiday clothes this weekend so my sneak peek Sunday might be a little late. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and THANK YOU so much for the sweet comments about the boutique!

Sneak Peek Sunday!

It's pretty chilly today in Duluth. I'm about to make some tea and pick up the house before I get too cozy on the couch and lay there all day :) I managed to get some photos done this afternoon in time for Sunday's sneak peek. Enjoy! {bright and cheery, I love these sunshine yellow enamel nesting bowls}
{this fun adding machine was probably common before calculators were invented! Can you imagine using these? a great display item for sure}
{this brass planter has two lion door knockers keeping guard on its sides. It reminds me of you something you would see in Narnia or The Labyrinth (maybe in the Goblin Kings study?}
{I don't think I'll ever get old of these metal frogs. This one has the best kelly green color and is perfect for displaying cards or recipes}
Find these items in the shop this week along with some other new treasures!

Happy Weekend!

I don't know about you, but I'm so happy the weekend is here! Jury duty is done (for now, I still am technically on call next week). What your plans this weekend? I'm planning on getting outside as much as possible, taking a little day trip with Mr. Lindello tomorrow, and probably working on the boutique. It's opening soon! Andrea who is opening the store is deciding whether or not to have shoes as well. This means I'll probably be going to shoe shows too! I have a feeling I'll be traveling a lot this summer. I do know one thing, my paycheck is going to be gone once this boutique opens.

I updated the shop this morning with a few new things. This large globe is great because you can move the circular band shifting the globe around to where you want to look. Its base is very modern, and the globe itself is unique because its pictorial!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thank you SO MUCH for the sweet comments regarding Apartment Therapy.

Hello Victory in Apartment Therapy

{My sweet little antique drawer made it on Apartment Therapy!}
On a side note---I've been reading Apartment Therapy for a while, and its the only "blog" with comments that constantly contain harsh criticism . I realize readers won't like everything they see, but is it necessary to point that out all the time or pick on indie designers who put their heart and soul in their projects? I am bringing this up because some reader made a comment calling the idea of using old drawers as plant boxes "ghetto". Really? Ghetto? It's not like I am using them to showcase off a collection of Colt 45 Malt Beer bottles. I'm not so bothered by the readers response, but annoyed that he/she is so ignorant they take the time to leave such comments. I'll quit venting now...I guess jury duty is taking a toll on my sanity!
On a brighter note---Once I'm finally done with this jury duty biz I'll be putting some new stuff in the shop this weekend! Thanks for all your nice comments regarding duty. It cheered me up last night :)

Doing My Duty

So. It happened.
I got the letter in the mail a few weeks ago saying I had to report into jury duty.
Crossing my fingers I wouldn't get picked I showed up today.
Yeah...I got picked right away.
Looks like I will be m.i.a the next couple days.
Trial already started this afternoon!
I'll try updating the shop/blog as soon as I can.
